Higher difficulties should only make for smarter moves by the computer, not give the computer better dice rolls.

Wonderful version of backgammon. Play is a bit slow for the accomplished player

Have tried several other games. Some are weighted to give the Computer an unfair advantage during doubling or roll-offs; others, simply dont off the challenges - this one seems to have balance at all portions of the challenge.

i was never any good at backgammon til i got this game. i sprung for the $1.99 version to keep stats. now ive become good at the game and can hold my own against real players on a real board. also, its fun to play alone.

Fun, addictive, love the different levels of play.

It would be nice if the boards points were contrasting colors. It also seems the game rolls an inordinate amount of doubles. Otherwise I dont think the computer games the rolls.

Beat my head against wall trying to beat Optime Pro. Toal AI advantage. You can cheat but what fun is that. THIS GAME IS GREAT and relaxing. Play is crisp, most importantly reflects real world odds. It whups your butt in some you make it pay in others. Thanks!!!!!!!

Ive played many backgammon versions downloadable on App Store and been disappointed. On this version I think they got it right. Maybe the developers should look at expanding the difficulty levels in the next update, but otherwise this is good alround.

this is far superior (and fair) than the other backgammon app I had purchased that was skewed toward the computer. I have enjoyed playing this one very much.

I upgraded to the paid version after reading the reviews, however, the one review that really sold me was one that said this version plays fair at the higher level, instead of the AI version cheating by rolling excessive doubles, and higher rolls. On the "normal" level all is good. When I play on the highest level the computer, when losing, seems to roll doubles anywhere from four, to eight times in a row... And with high numbers, while the human rolls, on that level, rarely get a double. As a result, I am stuck playing only the normal level.... Which is not why I purchased the game.. I wanted a challenging, but realistically challenging game...

This is a good board but it has a BIG FLAW. You never lose on this board if you use the flaw. Here is how: double or accept double every time. Play almost to the end of the game. If you are winning let the game finish. If you are losing, resign and irrespective of the cube you will only lose one game. This way you will win big ones and lose only one game at a time. The designer should have made it certain the if you resign, you lose what you bit, not just one. I hope the designer will correct this major flaw. All the best.

While this version of BG doesnt come with the bells and whistles of the highly rated version (tutoring, online play, etc) it does not seem to cheat. On the highest setting I won and lost. But the losing was because the computer rolled doubles multiple times in a row. Nor was it because the computer was able to roll just what it needed in the nick of time. I lost because I wasnt paying attention like I should have I hope the developers continue to improve on this game.

At first I thought it was too easy but I found you can set it to be more competitive. It is still easier than playing with a human. But its still fun

The app does cheat at the highest level. I still like playing the game and hope the developer adds more randomization.

Love this game. Havent played very long yet. Particularly like the fact that you can choose what degree of difficulty you want to play.

Love games that cause me to think strategies This is a relaxing yet challenging game

I played another app for at least two years and loved it until recent updates ruined it. I bought another popular app and it was heavily biased in favor of the computer and didnt offer enough layouts. Ive reluctantly settled on this app despite a few flaws:1. Even on the most challenging setting, I win more than 60% of the time. 2. The computers piece moves are glacially slow. Ive timed them. They take a full second per piece per move. 3. The pieces sound like croaking frogs when they move. Aesthetically I wish my first app would fix its issues so I could return to it, but since Im hopelessly hooked on the game this one will do for now.

It only comes with 3 levels. I play against the computer. On low or medium level, you cant lose. On high level you cant win against all of the quad rolls the computer gets vs. the two dice rolls you get. Very unfair and frustrating to play.

Another thing I noticed is that when you trap him, he rolls the only available combo the very next roll, as where I have to take many rolls. Makes the match impossible to win.
